Is there anyway to block members of CiviCRM groups from seeing other members' activities?  I'm using Drupal 5.8, and restricted activity viewing to admins only, but when I log in as an authenticated user and go to the CiviCRM module, I can see other group members' activities, specifically emails.

Not sure of the simple answer, but you'll want to play with the ACL functionality:

I've looked at acl's however, the only operations available are "view" or "edit"

Is there a way to  display an operation "hide"?

1. 'hide' is currently not implemented :)

2. What permissions does the authenticated user have? What page is the user going to in the civicrm module? if the dashboard the user should see only his activities UNLESS they have administer CiviCRM permission, in which case they can see everyone's activities

The user is going first to the contact record (from a list of group members) then the record's "Activities" tab. 

The authenticated user has permission to access CiviCrm and view contact dashboard.  If I click on "view" when searching in CiviCrm, the contact record is displayed.  From the contact record, I click to View Dashboard and see "You are not subscribed to any groups"

What's the difference between these 2 views (actual record and dashboard)?  Can I disable the view of the contact record, and only show the dashboard?
