for the noobs like myself.

i had to google my hosting providers absolute path

once i got this piece i plugged it in to the appropriate field in joomla install from dir (make sure to append with appropriate foldlers ie. ../cms/tmp/comABC/).

worked like a charm.

stil don't know why it however does not like the 'install from package' for some reason. Sometimes it works sometimes not.
