Please help! Error 15005 on many different cards!

Our civicontribute module in Drupal is working great for about 1/2 of our cards we've been running.  However, we are getting 15005 error codes (bank declined transaction) on another 1/2 of the cards.  I tried my personal card and had to call the card security hotline to get them to verify the merchant code and then I could get a clean transaction.  Visa/Mastercard tells me that my card was suspected fraud, possibly because the cvv number was not being sent through. 

We have a big donation campaign running tomorrow and MUST resolve this problem.  Please help.  Our Drupal CiviContribute: 1.7.9379

Does anyone have a similar experience?

We just did some testing to verify that we are sending in the CVV2 code to PayPal - and we are (it shows up in the XML data set that is created by their library after we pass in the form parameters).

If you haven't already, I guess your best bet is to try and contact PayPal and see if they can provide any explanations / details for the rejected transactions. (Also, doing some searches on the net might shed some light.).

We've exhausted almost all our resources trying to track down the problem, and it seem like it's coming from Paypal, who hasn't been very helpful in trying to work with us to resolve what might be their issue in the first place.  We think it may be the way Paypal is sending the cvv number, but that seems a stupid issue for Website Payments Pro.

We also tested the site a few times with very small donations, which may have flagged the bank I use as well.
