DeDupe = Internal Server Error

Hi,
I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to run a deduping operation (finding duplicate contacts) through civiCRM. 

I thought perhaps this was a time-out issue, so I created a subgroup (consisting of only names beginning with Q), but when running the operation on that subgroup I still got the same error.

I also tried changing max_execution_time in the php.ini file from 30 to 6000.  I still got a 500 Internal Server Error when running the Q names group.

I've got about 2,000 records in my user database.

Any thoughts how I should proceed? (I've sent a ticket in to my host to see if the server logs can clarify things)

Let us know what turns up in the server logs (as 500 type errors typically spit out some useful diagnostic info). Also, when you post back - update your forum profile to include info about your environment (CiviCRM version, which CMS and version, PHP and MySQL versions).

Thinkhost has additional limitations that cannot be changed by .ini or .htaccess files.  However they were kind enough to remove the limits for one night for me.  Hopefully the dedupe function on 2.1 which has been streamlined will not bump up against their limits, as I cannot abuse their graciousness.
