"Is the sites\default folder writeable?" issue for windows xp pro installation

I saw some question about it, regarding for windows XP home edition, or linux.
I do try to change it, and nothing work.

Please don't refer me to the solution for linux, there is no chmod for windows XP, and it may be some kind of tricky here to do it.

Please share with us your experience and really appreciate.

Note:

Civicrm version 2.1, Drupal 6.0, Mysql 5, Windows XP Pro, Drupal instaled under XAMPP

  error message

The user account used by your web-server needs to be granted write access to the following directory in order to configure the CiviCRM settings file:
D:/Program Files/xampp/htdocs/drupal-6\sites\default

After the tons of failed try, I finally figure it out.

I can not change it from the Windows explorer, no matter what I did, use sharing, or change its permission from top down.

Use the unix utility for windows solved my problem, just download the unxutils (search google), and use the "chmod 777" to change the folder permission, it works like magic for me.

Hy
I'm uder XP Pro, using XamppLite with PHP 5.2.6 and MySQL 5.0.51b-community-nt.
I'm trying to install CIVICRM v2.1 stable with the automatized install and I get :
"The user account used by your web-server needs to be granted write access to the following directory in order to configure the CiviCRM settings file:
C:/xampplite/htdocs/ifpcrm\sites\default"
How can I do do change the permission and how do you proceed if using unxutils ?
Tks !!

I'm sure the problem is the slashes as per this post - http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,5056.0.html

It would be normal on a windows install to have to use a windows style path and having to use double backslashes is pretty common - i.e. \\

If this works I would suggest it be edited into the comments on the civicrm.settings.php file
