Non-recoverable error when searching

When searching civicrm I receive a non-recoverable error message. Backtrace shows the information below. I'm new to this so unfortunately this information doesn't mean anything to me.

Can you logout / login. Clear session / cache .

I have caching turned off in Drupal. I have logged out, cleared out cache of ie and logged back in. I also empties the civicrm_cache file in the database. Same problem- "Non-recoverable error. Could not find valid key".  I emptied the drupal sessions table. Is there additional cache that needs to be cleared somewhere else?

I found this post: "I switched the drupal `sessions` table to utf_general_ci on all applicable fields and NOW it works!.  It was the default swedish.  The drupal was installed with Fantastico, maybe that is why."  I tried it and it worked (for now). Hopefully this is a real solution.

I had the same troubles with a profile which is using custom data fields. to get it work i had to change the format of the custom data fileds to utf_general_ci

maybe this is helpful for someone.
