It's timing out during install. You need to make sure your php settings for memory_limit and max_execution_time are adequately set. Do a search on the forums for guidance.

It is defintely shared hosting..any tips and advice

I'm not sure if you've already resolved this issue, but I had the same problem.  I was able to solve it by running a PHP script that copied the php.ini file into every folder on my server that needed it. 

Just put this in a blank notepad file and save as .php and run it.

Once finished, in Joomla use the Install from path. 

Well in my case with Bluehost, as far as they were concerned the PHP.ini file applies to all sub folders from the root folder but that simply wasn't the case.  That was just my way of making it work.  It is a pretty raw way of doing it but it works with Bluehost hosting.
