Imap2Soap error-"can't located SOAP/Lite.pm"
September 16, 2008, 08:56:37 am
Hi, I'm trying to use the IMAP2SOAP option for Civimail (2.1 beta 4 and latest IMAP2SOAP downloads)...However,  I'm getting the same error as this user here-http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,4195.msg18346.html#msg18346

but I DO have command line access.  My issue is that I have SOAP installed, but the error (can't locate SOAP/Lite.pm in @INC (@INC contains.....) seems to refer to SOAP Lite.  is the IMAP2SOAP.pl configured by default for SOAP Lite?  Should I install it?  I created a PHP info doc and it reads soap server: enabled soap client: enabled...

I put the imap2soap.pl file in /home/<myuser>/bin and the cron I set runs ok but I get that error.

I confess I know very little about SOAP/PERL/ etc...

Thanks!

You need to read the bottom of the imap2soap tutorial about how to setup Soap::Lite. You want to use CPAN Shell to install all the dependencies.

Again, it's in the documentation if you read it at the bottom.

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Alternative+configuration+with+imap2soap.pl+-+no+Amavis+or+root+access?focusedCommentId=10006#comment-10006

If you have root access, I would just opt to install php-soap rpm via yum or up2date or whatever. It worked perfectly.

Anyway, use the CPAN Shell install method to resolve all your dependencies.

If you can't follow the directions on that link above to get going, then it's going to be tough to help you.

Try to follow the CPAN install instructions, if that doesn't work then use the php-soap install rpm. (or whatever you need to do for your server to get php-soap up and running at the server level)

Hmm... I just got an email from my host saying that they don't support SOAP on shared accounts.  I use MidPhase, who I usually like, but I'm wondering where to go from here. Maybe use the CiviSMTP service?
