Import mappings not being saved
September 16, 2008, 08:08:04 pm
I've been importing csv files of new contacts and I'm finding that the import field mappings are not being applied as saved. There are usually a number of fields added when the mapping is called again. I end up just setting the fields as required for each import.

Not sure if this is part of the problem you had, but I note that Saved Mapping for Imports are not saving the 'type' of Address fields. eg I save it with City >> Work and it comes back to me as City >> Home - i.e. it changes all back to 'home'. Bug or just a feature it can't support?

Seemed fine in Sandbox - but there is a wee issue that if you tick 'save this mapping' at step 2, go to step 3 and then step back to step 2, and fix some issue in any row, then go fwd to step 3 again, it saves a second version of the mapping with the same name, which leads to problems when reusing the saved mapping as it then has two or more with the same name.

Sure - and just point out that the 'saved mapping' problem reported at the start of this post seems to only happen at night ;-)
