Tracked Opens - how does it work
September 17, 2008, 02:26:10 am
Hello,

I was a bit surprised to find that my address was listed as a 'tracked open'  in a civimail mail report - I had assumed that not having read receipts turned on would prevent this (I use outlook) - what constitutes a 'tracked open'?

When we send email we add invisible image in message body. So whenever recipient opens email, that image calls the server which tell us that email was open.

Note that in thunderbird by default images are not loaded. So when you click show images, then only we will be able to to track opens.

HTH
