custumizing civicrm
September 18, 2008, 02:18:23 am
Hi! Im trying to plan how to custimize drupal / civicrm system. I run drupal 5.10 civicrm 2.02 and civicontribute.

Wounder witch approatch would be most easy and fleixble to:
1. Make drupal username searchable from civicrm interface
2. rebuild searchoptions and fields in the searchresult with own sql querys.

the most important custom search would include total contributionamout by user in between selected dates. Also need qicklinks from the search result to civicrm notes and alarms

the options I'm looking at is:
1. custom searchview
2. hacking civicrm
3. execute own sql querys from drupal nodes

Anyone could give me their view what would be the best approach ?
Also a bit intressted if it would be better to upgrade to drupal 6.4 before doing all this and use new CiviCRM would make it more easy and good?

1. custom searchview

IMO, developing custom search will be best option.

2. hacking civicrm

I would avoid this, since you will have problems if you want to upgrade CiviCRM.

3. execute own sql querys from drupal nodes

Not sure about this approach.
