Civicrm and Payflow - now what?
September 18, 2008, 08:43:26 am
Hello,

I read through the existing posts about Civicrm and Payflow Pro as a payment method.  It seems like this plain ol' doesn't work.  I would hate to have to scrap Civicrm as a our event management system because it will not interface with our paypal account.  Yes we are tied to it, like another user said, we use iMIS and cannot get rid of it.

So my question is what should I do now?  Is there actually some way to process payments for our Civicrm events using Payflow Pro?  Should I create a regular Paypal account just for this and hope I can tie it into our merchant account somehow?  Is there an event management system that does integrate with Payflow Pro?

I am at your mercy.  Help please.

Basically you have two options (IMO)

1. Switch to a different payment processor (easier)

2. Contribute / fund development of a payment processor for Payflow Pro. I suspect a few people in the community will be thankful to you for making this happen. Depending on the complexity, this will take between 20-50 hours. This is now quite well documented at:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Payment+processors+-+creating+a+new+one

There are a few folks out there who've done a couple that can consult and help your org develop one fairly quickly. Let me know if u need contact info. This is obviously more expensive but quite beneficial to the community in the long run :)

I also have a potential need for PayFlow pro. Wondering if anyone has done work in this regard that I can piggy-back on.
