upgrading civicrm I'll need to reconfigure it or not?

I founded some cheap hostings for civicrm with good service, they install and configure it for me, but not update it, so I'll need to do it by myself, and i'm scared updating it to loose configuration..
So, updating civicrm and civimail for example in future from 2.1 stable to 2.2 stable, I'll loose configuration or not?

Upgrade process affects db & codebase only. Settings and configuration generally remains unaffected (unless there has been some major reforms in the way settings are stored).

Considering the v2.2 (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/crm/civicrm+v2.2) and upgrade process, Don't think there will be any changes to configuration.
