Setting 'Notify when profile form is submitted?' so it only works if change made
September 20, 2008, 02:37:54 am
Hi - any chance the settings for this could be enhanced so that the email is only triggered if the profile is actually changed. I think we have a lot of people going to a profile (from a checksum email) where they can see/update their contact details. I suspect that for most, if they see their contact details are all correct they will hit 'save' rather than 'cancel' which then triggers the email.
It would be great if this could be done as it would also mean that we would get a reading on how many people are visiting the profile and finding that their details are correct v incorrect. Pete

This will require some amount of tweaks in the code to do so (i suspect a fair amount). You might be able to do "accomplish" most  of this via JS (i.e. use JS to track if the user actually edited any of their info, but this will be an approximte guess)

Might be a good project for chris and a good contribution to CiviCRM :)
