Hi There,

Testing CiviCRM 2.1 Beta 5 on Joomla 1.5.7.

The problem is that an automatic confirmation email is NOT being sent when I register a contact for a free event (via the admin backend, using the "new event registration" button within the contact's record.

Here's the process (URLs) I'm going through...

• View a contact's record: http://mydomain/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contact/view&reset=1&cid=4
• Add a new event registration: http://mydomain/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contact/view/participant&reset=1&action=add&cid=4&context=participant
• Fill in required fields, including "Registration Confirmation" section (tick the 'send confirmation' option and fill in the message)
• Click "Save" which takes me to http://mydomain/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contact/view&reset=1&force=1&cid=4&selectedChild=participant

However, a confirmation email is sent successfully if I...

• register the same contact for a paid event via the backend
• register the same contact for a free event via the frontend
• register the same contact for a paid event via the frontend

I tried several times, and yes I did double and triple check that I had ticked the 'send confirmation' checkbox...

I have tried replicating this on the demo site (drupal, can't access admin of joomla demo), but got no confirmation emails at all - I'm assuming because you don't want the site sending e-mails left-right-and-centre, which is probably a wise way to set up a demo site.
