My client wants to allow event registration for an event, a charity gala, and allow the registrant to sign up for 1 to 10 participants.  they also need to limit the maximum number of participants.  I can set up event fees with descriptions like "1 participant," "2 participants," etc, but if I do that, I believe the maximum won't count these multiple participants.

Is there a way to support one registrant signing up multiple participants, and limiting the total participants?

I am using CiviCRM 2.0.5.

This is a count of registered participant having status which are counted for Max participants.
