CiviEvent Registration Date not there

Environment: CiviCRM 2.0.4. CiviCRM on Drupal 5
Component: CiviEvent

I am having an issue where I have set up an event that allows for online registration.  About 160 people have registered, but almost 99% of them do not have a registration date (`participant`.`register_date`).  I think it is possible that the few that have been "Registered" were done manually by the administrators.  It also looks like the few who have dates are "Registered" while the ones who do not are "Confirmed".

Another related, but could be separate, issue, is that on the Event Summary page, the amount of participants is only 4.

"Confirmed" is not one of the pre-configured participant status options - so it would be helpful to dig a bit more as to how / why these records have that status. Clearly someone added it via Admin - and then ??? Do you have a workflow with some sort of moderation / approval of participants after they register online?

As for "amount of participants" - in 2.0 we only count "Registered" and "Attended" status. In 2.1, the status(es) which are "counted" is configurable.

Yes, people register for the event, and their registration is reviewed and set to Denied or Confirmed.  It still does not account for almost all of the registrants not having a registration date.  At least in the capacity that that action should not remove the registration date, right?
