Searching Notes
September 24, 2008, 10:29:56 am
Is it possible to find a string within the Notes section using the search builder? I am using civicrm 2.1 beta 5 with Drupal 6.4.

I am attempting to reload some exported data and assign them back to their appropriate groups (long story of WHY I am doing this).  My smart idea was to map the groups field to the notes field and then run a search on the notes to find all of the people who used to belong to a particular group.  Unfortunately, when I run the search, it only matches if the person was ONLY in that one group. (e.g. if someone was a member of "staff" it would find it, but if they were "staff, donor, etc." it wouldn't find it).

I am hoping that I can come up with some sort of solution since otherwise I will have to modify 1800 contacts one by one.

Also, there seems to be a glitch in the importing.  When I am importing, I mapped all the address information to "Main" yet after the import, the street address only end up in "Home" (Yes, I am sure that I didn't make a mistake in the mapping).  All the other address data (city, state, etc.) ended up in "Main" as it was supposed to.

I did not see the importing issue on the demo {scratches head}.

I imported three times on my system and kept getting the same results.   ???

I will report the search issue.  It seems to be the same in the demo.
