Hi all,

I need to cosmetically customize a profile, but keep all functionality the same. So, I presume I need a standalone version to reorganize the controls, etc. I should ask about an efficient method for populating the form onload with any existing contact data.

I know I could script a method to initialize all the controls with the field values for the contact, but I'd rather make it reusable, since I anticipate doing this many times. Can anyone suggest a resource or 'best practice' for populating any profile with the correspoding contact data?

You dont need a standalone form for customized templates with 1.7 and later. Check:

u can customize templates for profiles, which in turn gives u default civicrm behavior and loads data that has already been filled in
