PDF display - Mailing Labels
September 25, 2008, 08:19:55 am
Some browsers (I like using Safari) will display pdf content in the browser rather than downloading the file.  This is especially desirable for temporary files such as the pdf's that we generate for mailing labels.

The execution of "Make Mailing Lables" seems to force download.  Is there something that I can change or adjust - hack even! - to allow my browser to treat the mailing label pdf files like other pdf files rather than forcing the download?

Thanks!

Hello,
I tested this using IE and Firefox and in both instances, I have the choice of either saving or opening the pdf file. I don't use Safari so I don't know what the difference might be. Perhaps you could try using a different browser to see if the behavior is different. If it is, then you can focus on the issue with Safari.

Hope this helps,
Cynthia

for mailing labels, you can hack  and see how to display pdf content inline,

packages/ufpdf/fpdf.php, line 1091 or so

please post your hacks back so others can benefit
