When I hit the manual Cron (via Drupal status report) my test message goes but not the actual message.

Does the fact that the test message goes mean that Postfix and AMaViS are installed? I am asking this because I haven't taken any action to install either of these (which I note are requirements according to the set up instructions).

If Postfix and AMaViS are OK, what else could be causing this?

1. CiviMail / CiviCRM does not use drupal's cron system

2. You might want to re-read the civimail install instructions and add the cron job to your install etc. You need amavisd / postfix to process the return messages (bounces, unsubscribes etc)
