profiles of drupal vs profiles of civicrm

Here what I know:
DRUPAL PROFILES:
this is a sample of profiles managed directly from drupal: http://drupal.org/node/314635 with easily seo urls as here: http://vancouverconsultants.com/www.brandsbc.com

CIVICRM PROFILES:
instead profiles published from civicrm are with very long urls and many parameters, example:
http://estufe.com/test/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/profile&force=1&gid=1&crmPID=1

but I'm not yet so much expert of both,
I have needings similar to this project:
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,4972.0.html

at the end, which are the differencies of publishing data with drupal or trough profiles of civicrm?

I also think that typical sitemap module of drupal (http://drupal.org/node/192794) or joomla will not see the profiles of civicrm, instead a crawler module like this could be the best solution for both type of profiles: http://www.pixelschieber.ch/jcrawler

fortunately it look that in civicrm 2.2 this problem will be solved:
http://civicrm.org/node/431
Integration with some important Drupal modules specifically: Views, CCK and OG. I do hope the community steps up and bridges the gap here

temporary drupal users using civicrm profiles could use this extrnal tool for sitemap xml :
http://goog-sitemapgen.sourceforge.net/

Can you make your question more specific?

Hey,

I don' feel both are comparable without knowing you business requirements. Most basic and obvious difference is about the data store: CiviCRM profiles expose CiviCRM data, Drupal don't. I'm sorry, but I'm not able to respond to your question about when it's better to use one or another, you'll have to look at your requirements and match them with functionality offered.

If by "integration in 2.2" you mean "Integration with some important Drupal modules specifically: Views, CCK and OG", it's not on the current roadmap.

Thx,m
