2.1 install "An error has occurred"
October 02, 2008, 03:14:08 am
2.1 final was released overnight. Just tried installing it on J1.5.6 and it returns this message on a blank screen (ie without the Joomla frames).

Quote
-1 -  An error has occurred
It was not possible to copy the selected file.

The format of the error message was strange in that it is not in the normal format I'd expect. However something has gone amiss.

I'm running Mysql 5.0.51a-community, PHP 5.2.5 and have all the recommended php_ini settings (its not a time out). My directory permissions all look good. Have reverted back to 2.0.6 using the this install hack http://civicrm.org/node/297. For what it's worth I've installed numerous revs since 1.5 and never had an issue.

Been looking at my apache logs which gives

 [02/Oct/2008:09:55:56 +0100] "POST /administrator/index.php HTTP/1.1" - 600 "http://domain.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer"

The last line has a 600 return code which puzzles me. What's 600?

However I'm still no closer to finding out what it can't copy. Any ideas?

Not sure but possible issues could be -
- Space issue i.e not enough disk space -or-
- Path separator issue as discussed here - http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=231&t=279538

Doing web search on sth like "joomla It was not possible to copy the selected file" might give you more clues.
