Upgrade Joomla 2.1 Alpha to 2.1 Stable
October 03, 2008, 06:11:18 pm
I followed all the procedure to upgrade from the wiki:http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+to+a+New+Revision+-+Joomla

For some reason after the upgrade process my footer still shows the alpha version on the footer. I actually have a footer.tpl on a civicrm custom template but I deleted the file on my template folder and it still shows...
Code: [Select]
Powered by CiviCRM 2.1.alpha4. CiviCRM is openly available under the GNU Affero General Public License (GNU AGPL).
How can I make sure that my upgrade went though and my footer is just a template issue?

I deleted the footer.tpl file on my template folder and it still shows the Alpha version on the footer ???.

The only thing I am not 100% sure on the upgrade instructions is the place where it states
Quote
# Delete the files in:

JOOMLA_ROOT/media/civicrm/templates_c

and

JOOMLA_ROOT/media/civicrm/upload

# Temporarily enable CiviCRM debug features:

Do we need to delete ALL the files AND folders under these two directories?... I did so but I want to confirm with you all

Thanks in advance for any tips

You can see the civicrm version you're running by looking in the civicrm module folder and opening civicrm-version.txt

In terms of the footer, it is probably a cache or something, so try clearing out the templates_c folder (remove everything inside of templates_c). i don't actually know the answer to the upload folder; all i know is that i've never cleared it out.

Thanks you so much... it was a cache problem and cleanning the template_c folder did the trick for me. Just to make sure if someone has the same problem, I also clean the cache in the Joomla administrator (administrator >> tools >> clean cache ).

BTW... Joomla call Drupal's modules "components" ;D
