civiEvent as appointment calendar?
October 05, 2008, 09:59:36 pm
I would like to use civiCRM as an appointment calendar on an 40 min. base. So I need to have a lot of 40 min. time slots per day that users should be able to claim. Is this possible with civiEvent? Does anyone have ideas/suggestions on how to do this? Or maybe someone has a better suggestion for this appointment calendar that has to be used in Drupal.

And you would create 40 minutes event, a lot every day ?

Overkill most probably. I'd suggest to go for some custom development, and add these appointments as activities (and only ones that have been booked, not all of them).

Thanks for your input.
No, I would think the best way might be to have the option presented to the client to book a certain 40 min slot.
But it might also be nice to show the slots already to the client.

I can probably do the customisation myself as I am a php developer, but I don't have any knowledge of civiCRM/Event development yet.
I want to make sure something like this does not exist yet before I invent the wheel again  ;)
