It seems when we renew an account that has "sub-accounts" (my term for accounts that share membership with it through a relationship) -- the sub-accounts are not renewing their shared membership unless we manually remove the relationship and then add it again. Is there any special trick to getting this to work automatically?

Hmm.... I'll research if that is really all it is. We have the drupal role/civi membership modules syncing on every page load (if needed) so maybe the person who complained of this was just getting used to having it update on the fly instead of realizing the main cron is just running once a night. Thanks for the point in the right direction -- I hope it's that simple. I'll post again if it is not.
