amavis says "CiviCRM: SOAP Error:"
October 08, 2008, 03:53:46 pm
I'm trying to get CiviMail working on Debian Etch with Postfix.  Things are somewhat working, but I frequently see the following in /var/log/mail.log, and the messages are triggered when I test replying to a mail that CiviMail has sent (forwarding to the FROM address was set for replies to the message):

Oct  8 22:38:31 a9 amavis[2110]: (02110-01) CiviCRM: SOAP Error:
Oct  8 22:38:31 a9 amavis[2110]: (02110-01) (!!) TROUBLE in check_mail: post_virus_scan FAILED: Died at (eval 44) line 146.
Oct  8 22:38:31 a9 amavis[2110]: (02110-01) (!) PRESERVING EVIDENCE in /var/lib/amavis/tmp/amavis-20081008T223830-02110
Oct  8 22:38:31 a9 postfix/smtp[2113]: 8AC5477C0DE: to=<reply.1.31.64.9ef97e1a0ac47f78299f8d253e16775a0c5a13c8-user=domain.lol@mail.domain.lol>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024, delay=21205, delays=21204/0/0/0.47, dsn=4.5.0, status=deferred (host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] said: 451 4.5.0 Error in processing, id=02110-01, post_virus_scan FAILED: Died at (eval 44) line 146. (in reply to end of DATA command))

I was able to check the parent function calling soapError() on line 14923 of /usr/sbin/amavisd-new and found that it was an authenticate() function related to CiviCRM.  The configured soap user/pass should be fine, as it works for some other CiviCRM soap related things and I can even login directly to Drupal with the configured user/pass.

Before I spend much more time digging around, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any suggestions.

Thanks,

Nathan
