Okay - got a couple of issues going on that I think point to a bigger issue for us which could have some bad side effects.

In both cases issue is that the number of contacts that a 'More Action' is applied to (or stated it will be applied to) is much larger than the Adv Search results.

A/ User A runs an Adv Search - gets 140 or so results, goes More Actions = Send Email, gets told the email will not be sent to 7000 odd contacts (which is probably the number we have as DO NOT EMAIL)

b/ User B runs an Adv Search on Custom Data gets results of 1300 which need to be untagged. But at next window is told this will apply to 32333 contacts (most of our database).

In both cases this is not replicable, though when I cancel the 'untag' and return to the Search Result screen and try it again, it throws up the same problem.

I am not even sure if the Action will actually be carried out on my intended group, or on the larger number - and as it is not predictable I can't set it up with unimportant data (or on our test site) to verify.

I was hoping chris would turn on sql log but that will have downside of performance issues elsewhere - and anyway not even sure if the problem would be picked up by this.

Chris wonders if it has something to do with how the search results from Adv Search are being stored and retrieved at the 'more action' step.

Any clues? Will sql log help? or do we need to look elsewhere?

Hi Pete - I think you could verify if it you apply the More Action in a way that is unimportant.

Ah good thinking Pete. I will just create a new Tag and apply 'Tag Contacts'. Okay done that Pete.

So what happened.

Well yes indeed the Action was applied to the 32334 contacts, not the 1460 that were my Search Results.

Well aren't you glad you didn't hit Delete.

Yes, I'll say.

And, when I hit DONE and get back to the Adv Search Results Page it is saying the Result found 32334 records.

So what happens if you click on Edit Search Criteria.

Well Pete, you probably aren't surprised when I tell you that the Custom Data I had selected when I did the Adv Search is no longer selected.
