Safe to upgrade from 1.5.7147 Drupal PHP4 to 1.9.13019 Drupal PHP5?

Can I upgrade safely from 1.5.7147 Drupal PHP4 to 1.9.13019 drupal php5, or do I need to do intermediate version upgrades?

Note server is PHP 5.

Once I am at 1.9.13019 I will continue upgrade to higher versions.   If I can go 1.5.7147 directly to 2.x please let me know that also - I figured you probably can't.

Thanks

We stopped php4 support after CiviCRM v1.8. Since you have php5 server you should get php5 CiviCRM v1.5 working and then follow normal upgrade process.
