In preparing for an import, I have planning for Households, Individuals, etc.

This maybe over-analysis or irrelevant, but I am trying to give Household Names that are meaningful, and might survive relationship changes- separations, divorces, etc.  I figure it's one less little bit of maintenance that could get overlooked.

However, I see that the name, or at least the nickname has to be "friendly" enough to be used in a mail merge.

There are tidbits of discussion here and there on Household Names, and the primary advice seems to be to use "Smith, John & Jane Household", etc., but I am wondering if there might be a better way, since John and Jane may go their separate ways...
