Paypal IPN error in Joomla
October 10, 2008, 06:36:22 am
I had everything working on my civicrm 2.1 install (Joomla 1.5).  Now I get the following error when a contribute or event registration page goes to paypal.

Sending a relative URL to PayPalIPN is erroneous. Please make your resource URL (in Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings) absolute

I checked the location it recommended, and it had an absolute address already.

here is what changed btwn working and not working.  I have two domains pointing to the same place...for the most part the site was developed using one, but I when I used the other issues popped up (Key errors) so to fix the key errors I changed civicrm.settings to point to the url that I will be using from now on. (as well as changing the resources url in global settings.)  At this point key errors were fixed but I started getting the above error when hitting continue to go to paypal.

Is there another file where I need to change the address?  What am I missing, any clue?

we store the information in a few more places. You can fix it by going to a url on your site similar to the below:

http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend&reset=1

(the username:password is demo:demo)

thanx

did u fill out the form and hit submit? it fixed a few things in the DB. If it still does not work, can u manually set the 'config_backend' column in civicrm_domain to null. You will then need to repopulate your settings
