Using Civicrm for Durpal Access control.
October 12, 2008, 12:36:56 pm
Hello,

I'm currently investigating if Drupal + Civicrm is what our organistation needs. I'm so far quite impressed with Civicrm, but have a question:
- Is it possible to have Drupal allow/deny access to certain Drupal nodes based on membership status in Civicrm.

The scenario is this: We have a website with a public and a private part. Guests and aspiring members should be able to see the public part. Once membership is approved and dues paid access to the private part should be granted. If membership lapses access should again be revoked. So only members who's membership is "current" should get access to the whole site.

Is this possible? I've only been skimming the documentation, and have installed civicrm 2.1 together with Drupal 6.5. If I'm jsut missing something obvious just tell me what I need to read next...

Thanks in advance.

Krist

Looks like I missed something obvious... Just searching for "civicrm" on the drupal site allready gave me some hints.
I found something called CiviRoles Sync. But it is listed as beta/alpha for the combination of civicrm 2.1/drupal 6.5. How useable is it currently?

Also look at some of the Organic Groups integration stuff that has been done.

OG sync ships with CiviCRM:
