Upgrade 2.0.6 to the latest 2.1 and I get this error

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
Database check failed - the current database is not v2.0.
Return to home page.

I know with 1.9 there where ways to check db integrity with the civicrm_41.sql script.
Is there a way to do it here?
Not sure even why this upgrade would be a problem since it is a small db and a clean install of 2.0 not too long ago.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Check what value does the 'version' column of table 'civicrm_domain' set to. If it is other than 2.0 try setting it to "2.0".

If it is already set to 2.0 probably there is some column/table missing in your database. The checklist in the file "CRM/Upgrade/TwoOne/Form/Step1.php" should help you figure out what's missing.

it was blank.
I added 2.0 and the upgrade worked without any steps though.
Just said successful?
