CiviContribute not allowing Profiles (CiviCRM 1.7.9821)
June 27, 2007, 04:28:33 pm
I have a profile created to collect info about people who want to join as members.  I've set my access rules to allow anonymous and authenticated users to access it, too.  When I go to the Profile Settings page the User Registration, View/Edit User Account, Profile and Search boxes are all checked.  The CiviContribute and CiviEvent items have brackets with an x inside (can't show it because this post renders the brackets and x as a bullet) next to them, not the checkboxes like expected.  This appears to be prohibiting me from attaching the profile to my Contribution page.

I see there was a similar issue in CiviCRM 1.6 but is reported to be fixed. ( http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-1549 and http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-1537) but there's no mention of a problem wih CiviCRM 1.7.9821 and Drupal 5.1 which I'm running.  Apparently it's broken in 1.7?

I'd really appreciate some help here.  I've got a contribution module that is useless without the profiles working.

Thank you!

This feature is working in 1.7 as far as I know. I just verified an example on the demo server:
http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&action=preview&id=9

... which uses a profile w/ a combination of standard and custom fields.

One cause for profiles not appearing is if they contain a combination of fields for Individuals AND for Organizations. Is this your case? If so, you'll need to remove Organization fields. If not, then the best approach would be to replicate your profile setup on the demo server and see if the issue is replicated. If it does, post an issue on the bug tracker with details.

Dave, thank you for this little piece of trivia. That turns out to be a part of the problem.  I've removed the combination of individual and organization fields and now the profile appears in the CiviContribute page.  But......ONLY IF THE USE IS LOGGED IN!

I get the following message when accessing the live CiviContribute page:

"Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
This profile is not configured for the requested action. Contact the site administrator if you need assistance."

So, I've rechecked the Access Control to be sure Anonymous users can:
access CiviCRM, CiviContribute, CiviEvent, Civimember, access all custom data, access uploaded files and make online contributions.

Any ideas how I can make the contributions page work for anonymous users?

Please disregard the portion of the last post re: the error message for anonymous users.  I found the solution on another post here:http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,228.0.html

All is well.  THANKS!
