What would it take for thermometer widget of members vs. contributions?

I was curious on what it would take to set up a thermometer to report on the memberships associated with donations on a contribution page instead of the donations themselves.  If not a big deal and if somebody didn't mind giving me some pointers, I might work on it.

You'll need to know Flash and ActionScript to some extent as well as PHP. Also, depending on how the "goal" for memberships is represented you may need to make a schema change to store that value.

The Flash source is in extern/Widget/widget.fla
... the gateway (service side) logic is in packages/amfphp/services/Widget.php
