The only thing in the tmp path is  '/tmp'.

For GoDaddy shared hosting accounts, your root directory would be:

/home/content/y/o/u/yourgodaddyusernamehere/html/administrator/components/com_installer/com_civicrm

where "y/o/u" represents the first three letters in your GoDaddy username and "yourgodaddyusernamehere" represents your full GoDaddy username.  (i.e. the one you enter to login into your GoDaddy hosting account.)

The path worked out great for me, thanks.

But now I have another problem.

While installing civicrm it keeps timing out on me and not completing the install.  It's like the internet connection is dropped. I don't get an error, just a white screen saying that there was a problem connecting.  I check the files and only part of civicrm was installed. I have increased all file sizes in the php.ini file but it still keeps timing out on me after about 1 min or so. Why is it disconnecting?

Any help would be appreciated.

Turn your error reporting to maximum on global configuration, that may give you a clue.

I set the global configuration to maximum but it still gives me a blank screen.

Is there another setting I can change to get this installed?

Thanks

GoDaddy hosting is a bear.
The only way I've been successful installing on their servers is through a full manual installation (copy files, manually configure settings, manually run sql scripts). Do a search of the forums for more detailed instructions.

The GoDaddy shared servers are overtaxed, bottom line. They just can't handle more demanding scripts.
