civicrm and joomla frontend
June 28, 2007, 05:08:55 pm
I gather from a previous post by Mark (and I enthusiastically second all those feature requests! and the need for volunteers etc to be confined to frontend) that this functionality will be improved with civicrm 2.x and is due to joomla constraints.

If I didn't want to wait, is it possible to port my database over to Drupal.
Or would I need to set up Drupal with all my current parameters (membership types, custom fields etc) and then do lots of exporting & importing?

also will joomla 1.5 make a difference?

cheers
Lesley

yes, the database structure is the same between drupal and joomla. you can move the same database to drupal (but might want to clear out the civicrm_uf_match)

Joomla 1.5 will not make a difference. We are not sure when the above features will be incorporated in the code base for joomla, if its a priority for your org, you might want to consider developing it or sponsoring a developer to do it
