I am having a problem with a Drupal 6.5 install that I suspect may be caused by civircm

When users register in Drupal, no e-mail is sent to authenticate their account and no message is displayed (there should be a message informing them of the e-mail). I have email authentication set in Drupal. Emails are being sent from other pages, so I don't think it is an smtp problem (I have smtpAssist module installed, but it's the same without it)
I have errors in my logs related to "scripts.js page not found" on registration.
The new user is created with status of "active".
I note from the source of the user/register that there is this line

Could this be anything to do with the problem? I have asked about this on Drupal forum but no-one is able to help. I would be very grateful for any ideas as I have now spent two days on this problem without any success.

I don't think the problem is related to CiviCRM - but you could verify that by disabling the CiviCRM module and seeing if that changes the behavior.
