once contacts are uploaded, how to create drupal accounts so they can log in?

Once I upload all the contacts into CiviCRM, how do I create a drupal account and let them know their account log in information?

I see a synchronize with Drupal link synchs drupal accounts over to Civi contacts.

Some CiviCRM contacts do and some CiviCRM contacts do NOT have email accounts.

Any ideas?  Many thanks.

Currently you cannot create drupal user corresponding to CiviCRM Contact.
Do check: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,3868.0.html

thanks!  However, I must say it seems odd for a Drupal module not to work with Drupal users.

For the many (most?) orgs using CiviCRM, there are many more constituents (contacts) than there are folks who actually want to or need to interact with Drupal features.

That said, I think there are instructions on our wiki for using the CiviCRM export + Drupal User Import module to create Drupal users from contacts already in your DB.
