Dashboard activities buggy after 2.1 upgrade?
October 22, 2008, 01:02:08 pm
after my 2.1 upgrade the dashboard of all activities shows a ton of SMS text messages set to 'scheduled' that no one in my org put in. Even more confusing, if I go to advanced search and search on 'scheduled' activities it only returns 13 results. These 13 results are indeed the 'scheduled' activities that have been entered by people in my org. These 13 show up on the dashboard as well. So this search appears to return the correct scheduled activities, while the dashboard is showing all kinds of activities that never existed before as being 'scheduled' from 2006-2007. All of these problem activities appear to have a subject of one of our membership types.

Any idea what's going on here?

Not sure if this is related, but my custom activity search is returning wrong status values on my 2.1.1 upgrade.

If I go here: /civicrm/contact/search/custom?reset=1&csid=8

and search on either 'scheduled' or 'completed' activities, everything it returns has a status column of 'granted'. I checked this on the demo and it's not happening there, so I have no idea what's going on with mine.

I did check to see if an activity I add after the upgrade will show up with a status of 'completed', but even that still says 'granted' if i use this custom search.

Emily - Sounds like the Option Groups / Option Values in the upgraded site our not what the code is expecting for both the Activity Status option group and the Activity Type option group. This would explain both behaviors - activities which should be status = "Completed"  and activity type = "Membership Signup" are being interpreted as "Scheduled" "SMSs".

I'd start by comparing the options for those 2 under Administer >> Option Lists to the values shown on the demo. I'm also moving this to the Upgrade Board so that our upgrade experts can help figure out what happened and how to fix ....

Yup, this is looking to be at least part of the problem. We had some custom activity types. I am attaching 2 screenshots: 1 of the demo site and 1 of my activity types page. Please let me know how I should proceed....

thanks.
