CiviMail user setup problem
October 22, 2008, 02:29:44 pm
When I click on "test" on the account set up page, I receive the following error message:

"CiviMail User Check : could not authenticate because: Invalid login"

I thought maybe I had set up the SOAP Proxy URL the wrong way, but when I changed that URL I got a very specific message that the URL was wrong.

I double checked the user ID and password on the Drupal installation and it worked fine.

Any ideas what could be wrong here?

One other note: when I signed up, I specified that we were using Drupal 6.4/CiviCRM 2.1, and I upgraded since then to 6.5/2.1.1.

try choosing a different password for the soap user and try testing the settings again.

if that doesn't work then go ahead and try to do a test mailing and see if you can unsubscribe and resubscribe.

let us know here how it goes.

Changing the password did the trick for the error message -- I had a mix of upper and lower case, numbers and special characters, so I changed it to something simpler.

Will report back on the subscribe/unsubscribe...

The subscribe/unsubscribe work fine now.  Thanks!
