Hi {contact.first_name},

I've seen how to use the token for the recipient
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Mail-merge+Tokens+for+Contact+Data

But was wondering if it's possible as well to get these token for the sender's details, for instance to automatically sign the emails with my contact details.

{sender.first_name}, {sender.last_name}

currently no. But in 2.2 there will be a couple of new "token" hooks which will allow you to extend the token system and add your own top level tokens (sender) and fields (first_name, last_name)
