New User - how to select and export for direct mail (snail mail) campaign

I can't figure this out. I realize CiviCRM has limited (none) reporting built in. However, what's the best way to select contacts to send renewal notices via US Mail instead of just email?

any suggestions for a new user would be awesome! ;D

   One way would be to do a "Find Contacts" for the mailing group. Then, you can "Export" the name and address fields. The Export format is a "csv" file which you can then produce labels from.
   Another way would be to select "Mailing labels" from the drop-down choice and just print straight from there.

Thanks for suggestion, but I need to clarify. I was able to search for memberships that end in Nov2009 and create smart group. When I go back and open the members of that smart group and export, it  only exports the contact's info and not any of their contribution history. I need their last contribution or membership amount in order to print up reply cards.

Any ideas on how to get the contribution info to export using smart groups?

  I'm not sure why you need a smart group for this.

   If there is a way you can isolate the group you are after by using the "Find Contribution" search in CiviContribute, I think you would be able to export everything that you need, but without more specific information about your site configuration, it is hard to say for sure.

That's another way to do it, thanks. I was thinking  smart groups to streamline future queries. But yes it works.
