Exporting fields - Membership fees
October 30, 2008, 10:49:45 am
I want to be able to export membership data for sending letters of renewal out.
When I select membership records I select name, address membership type etc. I would also like to export the membership fee field which is associated with the membership type. However I am unable to select this field as it is not shown in the membership field section.
Anyone got any good ideas on how to pick this field up?

Are you trying to do your export from civiMember or civiCRM?

Sorry. Not an area I have delved in to much so maybe I'll leave it here. You can specify "Contribution Type' in civiContribute but doubt that helps given the other info you are after.

If you're running 2.0.x, this is not possible from the interface. 2.1.x now includes those details.
The only way you can do this is by running a custom query on the database, with the contribution, membership, and membership_payment tables (which is the bridge between the other two). Note that the bridge table only has data if you selected the "record payment" option when creating a membership (or if the membership was handled through a contrib form on the frontend).

I am running 2.1.
Just to clarify. Does your second paragraph (the workaround) apply to 2.1 version?

Kind regards and thanks so much for your help

David

Some clarification --
In v2.1, the default "primary" export includes the associated contribution fields for the membership record. But if you choose the export option to select the fields for export, those contrib fields are not available. Might be something for the core team to consider adding for future releases.

Re: the custom query --
I'm stating that you would need to pull the data directly from the civicrm tables. The three specific tables I've mentioned are the same in v2.1 as in v2.0.
