Batch update for event attendees via profile
October 30, 2008, 01:12:26 pm
"I defined a profile, named something like NY-participants_Logistics
That I wanted to use for display and update when I had registered attendees for events. "

I am trying to figure out if this is yet possible. When I try to use a predefined profile  for batch update in civievent I get a message that says
The participant(s) selected for Batch Update do not have corresponding profiles. Please make sure that Participant has a profile and try again.

Does the profile I use for batch updates in CiviEvent, have to be the same profile that participants use to sign up, and if not how do I specify a corresponding profile?

Thanks,
Sarah

Sorry for the misleading message, have fixed it :). So, basically you will need to create a Profile containing the "Participant" fields that you want to edit before you can use Batch Update via Profile.
Navigate to Administer CiviCRM →  CiviCRM Profile to configure a Profile.

Nope.

Dear Yashodha,
Could you please provide a link to the patch? I would like to apply it to our code.

Thanks,
Cynthia

Hi I am still getting the same message? I would like to use the profile on the demo called Batch update to edit participants in any one of the events, but I still get the message that there is no profile associated with the participant.

Updated the demo now :). You were still getting the message because the profile "Batch Update" was of type "Individual,Participant" instead of "Participant".
Check here http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group?reset=1
The profile has to contain only participant fields for it to work with Batch Update feature.
