Newbie-questions about menu binding of some civicrm-functions in Joomla
November 02, 2008, 06:38:26 am
Hallo to all!
My first posting here and many thanks to developers and community - civicrm is the mightest extension for joomla i ever seen during i have to do with joomla. i begin now to use civicrm 2.1.1 with J.1.5.7.

About the huge number of options of civi i havent questions a the moment - they come later, sure;) At the beginning i need just to bind some essential civi-functions with joomla-menu and partially fail on this task. In menu-manager of joomla are some civi menu-options existent - i used them, but get errors like "The requested Profile (gid=) is disabled", "Could not find valid value for id" etc. It seems i need to do something more to bind this functions with menu, in addition to creating of manu points.

Concretely i need to link following functions with menu-points: in addition to all variants, that are present in menumanager (create, view, search, edit profile, event registration etc...) i need to bind with menu a list of all events and creating of events. Not really complicated deal, isnt it?

My problem thereby - i cant`t make a right inquery to find a right answer in real voluminous wiki. I`m deeply grateful for each bit of advice - if you give me simply a right link to wiki, that would be of course helpful too.

many thanks on advance
greets from Berlin

I would get it working for profiles first.

Did you create a profile page? First create a profile and get it working in the backend. Then you should experiment with the front end. Some links that will help you are here
