CiviMail Step 3 of 5 - editor
November 09, 2008, 06:42:25 pm
I just noticed that in the demo of 2.1 on CiviMail step 3 of 5 that the text "HTML Message" is immediately to the left of the editor not above it as in version 1.9.  This makes for a very small editor on the page.

I would be very interested in how to substitute our own editor.  I realize that we all have our favorites and mine is the www.unverse.net editor because the editor javascript is a very small file size and also when we insert blank lines in the html code for code readability with FireFox, the blank lines stay there (don't with I.E.).

Also, some people may want more or less space for the editor text - It would be great to be able to modify this page.  Clues to where this mod would be made?

Thanks.
Dave

too true - and the lack of space is made worse by fact that the sub-headings under 'compose on screen' are indented - can that indent be removed from the tpl for 2.2? and even better if the text box and html box could start on a new line so the align hard left? - more space - yum

There's a button on the toolbar to view in full screen. For any email message with more than a few lines of content, that (to me) is the best way to work with the editor.

So there is  ::)

Though on my systems (mac/firefox) there is a bit of odd behaviour on the Demo when I do this when it continues to show some of the menu links - but will assume that is an issue with the screen refresh rather than anything else.

Some good ideas in this thread; I created CRM-3835 so we won’t forget about them.
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.
