Adding a new member to a group

Hi,

How would I go about having a user automatically added to a group once they sign up for a membership on the site? When they do we want them in a certain group for member only mailings in CiviMail.

what system are you running (update your profile so it shows) as 2.1 handles this differently (better) than earlier versions.

I have updated my profile so you can see the versions. I will be upgrading soon to the latest version but we are in a membership drive and want to make sure everything stays running good until it is over because there have been some bugs.
