Multiple Contacts with Same E-mail Address
November 10, 2008, 06:43:01 am
How do we handle members who have the same e-mail address?  We need to track individuals for event registrations and such, so we cannot have individuals share one account.  Each needs to have their own account.  But if they have one e-mail address for multiple contacts in a household, it does not allow us to create the second individual in the household.  It says that the contact already exists because the other individual has the same e-mail address as the second individual.

How do we handle this?

Thanks.

P.S. Earlier this year, xurizaemon had a similar issue.

We dont handle that very well (at all?) right now. Email address is quite central to the online registration/transcation process etc. At some stage we will need to figure out how to get around that issue

True.  Right now if a husband and wife want to both register for an event, they cannot, because they share the same e-mail address.  Only one can register, and that totally screws up the registration process.
