I have a fairly new install of Drupal and CIVICRM and I have a problem with the message above.

The full error is:
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
You do not have permission to view this event

Since I am logged in to Drupal, I have access but when I try to give the URL out to people to register, they (and I if I am logged out) get the error.

I'm right in the middle of an event registration with people who HAD access to the system and registered.

What can be wrong?

Check that the following permissions have been granted to appropriate roles under Administer >> User management >> Permissions

* register for events
* view event info

... including the "anonymous" role if you want non-logged-in visitors to register.

If you have profile(s) included in your event registration page, add:

* profile listings and forms

If custom fields are included:

* access all custom data
